On April 18, 2023, the regional championship “WorldSkills Shymkent – 2023” on the competence of “Medical laboratory assistant” was held on the basis of the State Enterprise on the Higher Medical College of Shymkent City Health Department.
The final year students of 4 medical colleges of the city of Shymkent applied for participation in the championship:

- Korbatskova Alevtina, “Avicenna Multidisciplinary Medical College”.
- Saidakarimova Yulduzkhan, “Shymkent Multidisciplinary College”.
- Ergeshova Umida, “Sairam Medical College”.
Participants of the championship demonstrated practical skills in modules: “Laboratory hematological examination”, “Laboratory microbiological examination”, “Laboratory sanitary and hygienic examination”.
